Construction
The soapbox must:
• Be no longer than 2 metres and no wider than 1 metre with at least 15 centimetres ground clearance front and back.
• Have four wheels
• Be capable of being steered
• Utilise some form of inbuilt mechanism to provide braking power
• Have no propulsion unit or system of any kind
• Be strong enough to make at least 3 runs of the 100 metre course in competition
• Be capable of running on a grass surface
• Have no sharp or protruding corners, edges or objects liable to cause injury or damage
Note: Possible places to get wheels and bits for your cart:
Island Waste on Forest Road, Newport
Lynn Bottom Tip at Arreton (They may make a charge for recycled bikes, usually around £5) please be aware that adapted bicycle frames are not accepted however bicycle parts can be used to make a cart. Any entries that are essentially still a bicycle will not be allowed to enter the event.

Specification notes
1. People nominated by the organisers, as scrutineers will check all soapbox carts for safety and reliability before being permitted to race. The scrutineers decision is final.
2. The specification may be changed at short notice by the organisers in the interest of maintaining safety at the event.
